A battle for supremacy – Thug Life Movie Review

“Thug Life” is a 2025 action drama directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Kamal Haaan, Mani Ratnam, R Mahendran and Siva Ananth under the banners of Raaj Kamal Film International and Madras Talkies. The film features Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR and Trisha in prominent roles. Alongside them, Joju George, Nasser, Bucks, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Abhirami play supportive roles.

The films revolves around Rangaraya Sakthivel and his godson Amaran who in a sudden turn of events turn into rivals. Who survives and wings the battle is the rest of the story.

The overall film was gripping hooking up audiences from the very beginning. The editing part handled by Sreekar Prasad keeps the audience engaged. The film’s music score by AR Rahman enchants us, especially Jingucha and Muththa Mazhai and the cinematography handled by Ravi K Chandran was captivating. Kamal Haasan’s de-ageing was impressive

Though the storyline was nothing new, had Chekka Sivantha Vaanam references and the screenplay of the movie could have been done better, the overall film was enjoyable. Kamal Haasan’s acting was good as usual, Silambarasan TR has done justice to his character. Nasser, Joju George, Abhirami and Aishwarya Lekshmi performed their part well. Nothing much to say about Trisha’s acting.
