The makers of Prabhas’ upcoming period action drama Fauzi have released a new glimpse titled File No. 25. Set against the backdrop of World War II and India’s freedom struggle, the video introduces Prabhas as a mysterious operative known to the British as Fauzi. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, 2027.

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series. The film is backed by Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar and Bhushan Kumar, with Gulshan Kumar also credited as a presenter. The makers unveiled the glimpse on the occasion of Prabhas’ birthday, offering a first look at the character’s intelligence, mission and concealed identity.

File No. 25 opens in Berlin on May 29, 1942, with a meeting between Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Adolf Hitler. Bose seeks Germany’s support in the fight against British rule in India. When Hitler questions whether India can defeat the British Empire, Bose insists that the determination to secure independence cannot be extinguished.

Bose then argues that intelligence can be more powerful than military might. He describes an Indian operative who has repeatedly disrupted British plans through carefully coordinated missions, diverting troops and outsmarting the colonial administration while keeping his identity hidden.

The glimpse also hints at the operative’s secret communication system. Inspired by the Bhagavad Gita, the code is said to be harder to decipher than Germany’s Enigma. Although the British are unable to identify the man behind the operations, Bose says the operative has been wanted since 1932 and is now continuing his fight in Calcutta.

Known to the British as Fauzi, the soldier’s real name remains a mystery. Prabhas appears towards the end of the video as a defiant rebel who refuses to surrender. A cigarette between his lips and a firearm in hand, he challenges colonial authority in a sequence that closes the glimpse on an action-packed note.

The video presents Fauzi as a story that reaches beyond battlefield action, bringing espionage, coded messages and a hidden identity into its historical setting. It offers a brief introduction to Prabhas’ character while leaving questions about his origins and the events that made him a persistent adversary of the British.

Imanvi plays the female lead, with Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and Bhanu Chandar in pivotal roles. Sudeep Chatterjee ISC is handling cinematography, Vishal Chandrasekhar is composing the music, Anil Vilas Jadhav is the production designer, and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor. The film’s lyrics are by Krishna Kanth, choreography is by Prem Rakshit, and costumes are designed by Sheetal Iqbal Sharma and T. Vijay Bhaskar. R. C. Kamala Kannan is in charge of VFX.

Fauzi will release in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Bengali on March 19, 2027.
