Director R. Raghav Mirdath, who attracted attention with his earlier film Fun Butter Jam, is back with his next directorial venture, Drones. Produced by G. M. Morgan under the banner of GM Morgan Films, the film promises a distinctive cinematic experience combining horror, fantasy, science fiction, survival and comedy. The film's press meet was held ahead of its theatrical release on October 16.

Siddhi Idnani, Anjali Nair, Devadarshini, Dravid Selvam, Qureshi, Cinemawala Sathish, Sasi Selvaraj and RJ Deepak are among the cast members playing prominent roles in the film. Five Star Senthil is releasing the film in theatres.

Speaking at the press meet, producer G. M. Morgan said that Drones marks his debut as a film producer. He revealed that he met director R. Raghav Mirdath at a friend's house and decided to produce the film after a brief conversation. Although the director had narrated several story ideas, Morgan expressed his preference for a comedy-oriented film, which eventually led to the creation of Drones. He expressed confidence that the film would appeal to audiences across different age groups, from children to adults, and urged everyone to watch it in theatres.

Actor Cinemawala Sathish, who shared his experiences at the event, said the occasion was particularly emotional for him as he had spent several years attending film-related events as a member of the media before getting an opportunity to act. He thanked producer Morgan and director Raghav Mirdath for bringing him back in front of the camera. Comparing the film's unconventional approach with his debut acting venture Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, he said the team had worked hard to bring an unusual fictional concept convincingly to the screen.

RJ Deepak expressed happiness at getting an opportunity to fulfil his long-standing dream of becoming an actor. He thanked the producer and director for giving him a substantial character that travels throughout the film rather than a brief appearance. He also praised his co-stars, particularly Anjali Nair and Siddhi Idnani, and requested audiences to watch the film when it reaches theatres on October 16.

Actress Anjali Nair described Drones as an experimental attempt that combines fantasy, horror and survival elements with entertaining sequences. She said the film features several unusual incidents and characters while also exploring serious subjects such as colour politics, racial discrimination and love. According to her, the team has attempted to present these themes through an engaging entertainment format that audiences can enjoy with their families. She also emphasised the importance of audience reviews and word-of-mouth support in helping smaller films reach a wider audience.

Siddhi Idnani spoke about the challenges and excitement of releasing a relatively small film during a festive period when major star-driven movies are also attracting attention. She said the team considered it an honour to release their film alongside a major Rajinikanth-starrer and expressed hope that audiences would extend their support to the project. She appreciated producer G. M. Morgan for investing in a film featuring a team of artistes who are still building their careers. She also praised director Raghav Mirdath for his creativity and thanked her co-stars for making the shooting experience enjoyable.

Actor Dravid Selvam revealed that he agreed to be part of Drones after hearing its unconventional storyline. He said the film could not easily be confined to a single genre, as it blends horror, comedy and fantasy while featuring unusual characters such as supernatural beings and magical figures. He appreciated the producer's willingness to invest in a film that combines entertainment with political ideas and expressed hope that the project would receive strong audience support.

Directed by R. Raghav Mirdath, Drones explores an imaginative premise built around the possibility of strange events, usually associated with dreams, occurring in real life. Designed in a surrealist fantasy style, the film promises to transport audiences into a mysterious world filled with magical occurrences and unexpected developments. Characters such as a mad scientist, a detective, a fairy and a witch add to the film's distinctive narrative.

Jayanth Sethu Madhavan has handled the cinematography, while Hari S.R. has composed the music. Satish Surya is responsible for the editing, and R. Kishore has taken care of the art direction.

Produced by GM Morgan Films and distributed by Five Star Senthil, Drones is scheduled to hit theatres on October 16. The team is counting on audience support and word-of-mouth appreciation to help the film reach a wider audience.
