Gangai Amaran Speaks About AI’s Impact on Creativity at “Uyirinaiye” Music Album Launch

The launch event of the Tamil music album “Uyirinaiye”, produced by Claudy Gerad under the banner of Drums Jerry Entertainment, was held in Chennai recently. Based on the theme of relationships, the album has already started drawing attention for its unique concept and emotional presentation.
The event was attended by director and lyricist Gangai Amaran, music composers Satha Sudharsanam and Kannan, Thavaseelithanraj, Sago Ganesan, producer Ravikanth and several others from the industry.
Speaking at the event, Gangai Amaran praised producer Claudy Gerad for presenting a story that highlights human relationships while experimenting with AI technology in filmmaking. He described it as a fresh attempt but also expressed concern over the growing dependence on artificial intelligence in creative fields.
Gangai Amaran recalled how his generation grew under the musical guidance of Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja and said that learning music in a traditional way helped nurture creativity and originality. He pointed out that earlier, singers would perform songs emotionally from start to finish, whereas today many recordings are assembled line by line using AI-assisted methods.
He further stated that overdependence on AI could eventually weaken human thinking and creativity. According to him, future generations must learn to think independently, write on their own, and bring out their natural talents instead of relying entirely on technology.
Concluding his speech on an emotional note, Gangai Amaran said that music has been the breath of his life for the past five decades and requested audiences to continue supporting and encouraging artists who dedicate their lives to music.
