‘Raawadi’ Set for Worldwide Theatrical Release on December 24, 2026

The makers of Raawadi, starring Basil Joseph and L. K. Akshay Kumar, have announced that the film will hit theatres worldwide on December 24, 2026. The release date was unveiled along with a new poster and an energetic ‘Gujilimasthu’ video, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.

Produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio, Raawadi has been made as a bilingual film in Tamil and Malayalam.

The newly released ‘Gujilimasthu’ video offers a glimpse into the youthful and entertaining world of the film. Beginning on a celebratory note, the video moves through various elements including romance, college life, action and fun, accompanied by the song ‘Araajagam Pathala Pathala’. Basil Joseph and L. K. Akshay Kumar appear in contrasting shades, giving audiences a glimpse of the different dimensions of their characters.

Positioned as a youthful comedy entertainer, Raawadi is said to blend humour, romance, action and lively situations into an engaging commercial package. The film is designed to appeal particularly to younger audiences, with a screenplay that combines fun-filled moments and elements of college life.

Raawadi marks the directorial debut of Vignesh Vadivel. A major portion of the film has been shot across Chennai and Hogenakkal. The sequences filmed against the natural backdrop of Hogenakkal are expected to add a distinctive visual flavour to the film.

Alongside Basil Joseph and L. K. Akshay Kumar, the film features John Vijay, Sathyan, Jaffer Sadiq, Nobel K. James, Arunachaleswaran PA, Shareeq Hassan and Aishwarya Sharma in important roles.

Leon Britto has handled the cinematography, while Jen Martin has composed the music. Bharath Vikraman is the editor and P. S. Hariharan is the art director.

Produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar for Seven Screen Studio, the film has L. K. Vishnu Kumar as co-producer. With the shooting already wrapped, the post-production work is currently progressing at a brisk pace.
