Soori’s ‘Mandaadi’ Gets U/A Certificate; Worldwide Theatrical Release on September 10

RS Infotainment’s upcoming sports action drama ‘Mandaadi’, starring Soori in a powerful and distinctive role, has successfully completed its censor formalities and received a U/A certificate. The film, written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendi and produced by Elred Kumar under the banner of RS Infotainment Pvt. Ltd., is now gearing up for its worldwide theatrical release on September 10, 2026.
Set against the coastal landscape and inspired by the traditional sailboat racing culture of fishermen, ‘Mandaadi’ explores a sporting world that has rarely been brought to the mainstream screen. The film combines sport, action, emotion and relationships while remaining closely connected to the culture and lifestyle of the coastal communities.
One of the major attractions of the film is Soori’s transformation for his role. The actor reportedly underwent rigorous physical training and extensive sea-based conditioning to bring authenticity to his character. He also performed challenging stunt sequences in the sea without the assistance of body doubles, reflecting the physical preparation and commitment involved in the project. His transformed appearance and intense screen presence have already created curiosity among audiences through the film’s promotional material.
The film features an ensemble cast comprising Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Ravindra Vijay, Achyuth Kumar, Bala Saravanan, Mithun and Keerthika alongside Soori.
G.V. Prakash Kumar has composed the music for ‘Mandaadi’, with two songs from the album already released. The energetic “Mandaadi Mandaadi” and the romantic track “Usure Neethaan Pulla” have received an encouraging response from music lovers and audiences.
With the sea playing a significant role in both the narrative and visual presentation, the makers have mounted ‘Mandaadi’ on an ambitious scale to offer audiences an immersive theatrical experience. The film is expected to showcase the determination, resilience and competitive spirit of communities whose lives are deeply connected with the sea.
Following the completion of its censor formalities, the team is now preparing for the final phase of promotions. ‘Mandaadi’ is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on September 10, 2026, with Soori’s striking transformation and its unique sports backdrop emerging as major attractions.
