The story has been written by filmmaker Vignesh Raja, while Gautham Rajendran is handling the cinematography. Govind Vasantha is composing the music, R.K. Selva is editing the film and Manikandan Srinivasan is responsible for the art direction.
Produced by K. Karuna Moorthy, Ashok Selvan and Abinaya Selvam under the banners of Ayngaran International and Happy High Pictures, Anbil Avan is scheduled to hit theatres in September.
Speaking at the first look and title teaser launch, producer Abinaya Selvam said that the team had been waiting for a strong story after Oh My Kadavule. She revealed that the story narrated by Vignesh Raja impressed the team and that Ashok Selvan extended his complete support and confidence towards the project. She also said that the team is working towards completing the remaining formalities and releasing the film in September.
Director R. Karthikeyan described Anbil Avan as a film that explores dreams, particularly a woman’s dreams, and the journey, struggles, challenges and determination involved in pursuing them. He expressed confidence that the combination of Ashok Selvan and Preethi Mukundhan, the visuals, Govind Vasantha’s music and the film’s theatrical moments would connect strongly with audiences.
Preethi Mukundhan described Anbil Avan as a project that is very close to her heart and said that she had been waiting for its release for a long time. She thanked the director and producer for placing their trust in her and expressed confidence that the film would appeal to both unmarried and married women.
Ashok Selvan, meanwhile, said that it had been quite some time since one of his films reached the big screen, noting that it had been around two and a half years since the release of Blue Star. He said that he always looks for something new in every film and believes that the screenplay and the way a story is presented are increasingly important in contemporary cinema.
According to Ashok Selvan, while the basic premise of Anbil Avan may remind audiences of love stories they have seen before, the screenplay and the theatrical experience will offer something fresh. He also highlighted the film’s mass moments and said that there are several sequences particularly designed to appeal to women.
Describing the core idea of the film, Ashok Selvan said that Anbil Avan is about how far a man is willing to travel for love. He added that the screenplay reflects how love can make an intelligent person act foolishly and transform an ordinary person into an achiever.
The actor also praised Preethi Mukundhan’s performance, revealing that those who have already watched the film have appreciated her work. He further expressed confidence in Govind Vasantha’s music, describing it as one of the film’s major strengths and stating that the album could receive appreciation on a level comparable to the music of 96.
With love, dreams, emotions, struggles and theatrical entertainment forming the core of the film, Anbil Avan is gearing up for a September release.
