‘Pyaar Prema Kalyanam’ Trailer Unveiled; Ilan Makes His Acting Debut Alongside His Directorial Part

The trailer of ‘Pyaar Prema Kalyanam’, which marks director Ilan’s debut as a lead actor, was unveiled at a special event attended by the film’s cast, crew and several prominent personalities from the Tamil film industry. Produced by Rise East Entertainment, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and brings together a combination of romance, family emotions and humour against the backdrop of modern relationships and marriage.

Ilan, who has previously established himself as a filmmaker, has taken on the dual responsibility of directing and playing the lead in the film. Sanvee Meghna stars opposite him, while Radhika Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, M.S. Bhaskar, Geetha Kailasam, Ilango Kumaravel, Senthil, Maran and Deeps Cyrus are among the other prominent members of the cast.

The story revolves around an unusual situation in a marriage, where the wife is reluctant to leave her parents' home after marriage, eventually leading her husband to move into and live at his wife's house. Through this premise, the film explores love, marriage, family relationships, expectations and the humorous situations that arise from changing attitudes towards relationships.

At the trailer launch, director Vetrimaaran appreciated Ilan for taking up the challenge of becoming an actor after establishing himself as a director. He praised the trailer for its entertaining elements and said the film appears to combine humour with more personal and emotionally relatable situations. He also expressed his wishes for the film to emerge as a successful release.

Radhika Sarathkumar expressed her happiness over the film's release on Netflix and noted that its release coincides with her birthday, making it a special occasion for her. She described the film as a different kind of love story that reflects how the younger generation's perspectives on love, marriage and life have evolved. She also praised Ilan for effectively handling both the direction and acting responsibilities.

Ilango Kumaravel spoke about his role as the father-in-law and expressed confidence that the character would be well received by audiences. Veteran actor Senthil, meanwhile, said Ilan's performance reminded him of the kind of characters associated with actor-filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj. He also appreciated Sanvee Meghna's natural performance in the film.

Yogi Babu revealed that he and Ilan had been discussing the possibility of working together since ‘Star’, and expressed his happiness that their collaboration has now materialised through ‘Pyaar Prema Kalyanam’. He also revealed that another project featuring the duo is in the works.

Sanvee Meghna spoke about the challenges Ilan faced while simultaneously directing and acting in the film. She recalled being impressed by his ability to shift seamlessly between the responsibilities of an actor and a director, particularly during emotionally demanding scenes. She also revealed that she has dubbed her character completely in Tamil for the film.

He revealed that the story has been designed to connect with today's youngsters and thanked senior artistes including Radhika Sarathkumar and Senthil for placing their trust in him. He also highlighted Yuvan Shankar Raja's music as one of the film's major strengths and spoke about the positive response to the song ‘Adraacity’.
