The Tamil version of Pallichattambi, starring Tovino Thomas in the lead, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on April 10, 2026, and the makers recently hosted a press meet in Chennai to promote the film. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony and produced by Worldwide Films in association with C Cube Bros Entertainment, the film is positioned as an emotional action entertainer set against the backdrop of 1957.

Alongside Tovino Thomas, the film features Kayadu Lohar, Vijayaraghavan, Babu Raj, Alexander Prasanth, Sudheer Karamana, T. G. Ravi, and John Antony in key roles. With cinematography by Dijo Tomy and music composed by Jakes Bejoy, the film promises a blend of strong performances and engaging storytelling rooted in a period setting.

Speaking at the event, co-producer Megha Shyam described the film as a significant milestone in his 14-year journey in the industry, as it marks his first project as a co-producer. He termed the film an emotional action entertainer and praised the commitment of the cast and crew, expressing confidence that audiences would embrace it in theatres worldwide.

Distributor Vetri, representing Chakra Pictures which is releasing the film across Tamil Nadu, highlighted that the film is content-driven and marks their first release, urging audiences to support it upon its release.

Producer Charan shared that Pallichattambi is the debut production venture of their banner, backed by three brothers. He revealed that the film’s shoot began on February 19 last year and emphasized that the story recreates an incident set in 1950s Kerala, making it a proud and ambitious first project for the team.

Actress Kayadu Lohar, who returns to Malayalam cinema with this film after a gap, described her role as unique and emotionally close to her heart. She thanked the director and producers for offering her a performance-oriented character and expressed confidence that the film, crafted as a family entertainer, will connect with audiences. She also praised Tovino Thomas for his support and talent as a co-actor.

Tovino Thomas revealed that discussions about the film began in 2018 and that the project took time to materialize due to prior commitments. He noted that the screenplay evolved significantly during development, ultimately emerging stronger than the initial version. The actor added that the film was shot over more than 100 days, involving large-scale sequences with hundreds of actors, making it a demanding production.

Clarifying that the film is not based on a true story, Tovino said it draws inspiration from certain incidents and blends them with fictional elements set within the socio-political backdrop of Kerala during 1957–58. He expressed excitement about watching the film with audiences in theatres, adding that the teaser and songs have already received a strong response and that the film is expected to resonate well with viewers.

With positive buzz surrounding its promotional content and a strong team behind it, Pallichattambi is gearing up to hit theatres worldwide on April 10.
