Release date of Akshay Kumar’s bio-pic on Captain Gopinath announced
Captain Gopinath is the person who had started Deccan Airlines in 90’s and had created a record where a common man can even travel in an aircraft. A bio-pic of him was released in Tamil in the year 2021. The bio-pic titled as “Soorarai Potru” was star-casted by Suriya as the lead of the movie in the character of Captain Gopinath and was directed by Sudha Kongara. Due to the covid pandemic, the movie was unable to be released in theaters and was released Amazon OTT platform.
Though the movie was released on OTT platform, it created a large expectation among the fans of Suriya and the general audience. Even though the movie was a bio-pic, it had strong technicians in the movie which made it a grand success. Looking at the success of the movie, Akshay Kumar showed his interest to do the same in Hindi.
Soorarai Potru’s producers Suriya-Jyotika’s 2D Entertainment decided to remake the movie in Hindi and joined hands with Abandancia Entertainment and Cape of Good Films. Sources now say that the shoot of the Hindi version of “Soorarai Potru” has been completed and the title has not been decided yet and has been temporarily named as ‘Production No. 27’. The movie star-casts Akshay Kumar as the lead in the character of Captain Gopinath. Along with him Radhika Madhan and Paresh Raval are playing important characters in the movie. G.V.Prakash who had scored music in the original version titled “Soorarai Potru” has scored music for this Hindi version too. The movie has been scripted and Directed by Sudha Kongara who had made the original version in Tamil.
Suriya – Jyotika have jointly stepped into Bollywood Production on their 2D Entertainment Banner and this movie would be their Debut Production in Bollywood. Sources also way that 2D Entertainment would hereafter continue producing Hindi movies and would be establishing their banner in North.
The production Houses of the Hindi version of “Soorarai Potru” which has been tentatively titled as “Production No.27” has announced that the movie would be releasing worldwide on 27th September 2023.
