Merry Christmas Movie Review

Merry Christmas is starred by Vijay Sethupathy and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Katrina Kaif is a married woman with a girl child. Her husband seems to be a drunkard and a womanizer. Frustrated Katrina Kaif meets Vijay Sethupathy on a Christmas Eve at a restaurant.

Vijay Sethupathy is a Jail Bird who had been released early from the prison on conduct grounds. It happens for Vijay Sethupathy to drop Katrina Kaif and her child at their home and that leads them both to have an alcoholic drink together.

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathy go out for a small drive leaving the child stay at home. On returning to her home, Katrina Kaif notices that her husband has been shot dead. Vijay Sethupathy hearing about Katrina Kaif’s husband murder, moves away from the murder spot.

At one stage Vijay Sethupathy trespasses into Katrina Kaif to trace the reason behind the murder.

The climax of the story would reveal the reason behind the murder and who committed it.

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathy have made a subtle performance. The movie has a simple storyline with a strong screenplay. The first half of the movie travels a bit slow while the second half keeps the audience engaged. Vijay Sethupathy’s comical dialogues keep the audience entertained. Radhika Apte has made a cameo and nothing special with her. Radhika and Shanmugaraja have played cop characters where their scenes and their performances seem to be a look artificial.

Director Sriram Raghavan could have extracted some more work from the writers Pratheep Kumar, Abdul Jabbar, Prasanna Bala, Natarajan and Lata Kartikeyan to have the screenplay a little more sharp and crispy. Daniel.B.George’s Background Music and Pritam’s music are good to listen. Madhu Neelakandan’s Cinematography and Pooja Ladha Surti’s Edit cuts are done with justice for their works.

Overall the movie “Merry Christmas” is an good entertainer.

Sriram Raghavan has made a decent entertainer that would be enjoyed by the audience.
