LOVER Movie Review

‘Lover’ is a Tamil movie scripted & directed by Prabhu Ram Vyas. The movie stars Manikandan, Kanna Ravi, Sri Gouri Priya, Nikhila Sankar, Harish Kumar and a few others.

Manikandan hails from a middle class family where he lives with his mother Geetha Kailasam and his father Saravanan. Manikandan during his college days falls in love with Sri Gouri Priya.

Kanna Ravi a travel blogger joins at the workplace of Sri Gouri Priya and becomes close to her. Manikandan is very much passionate in opening up a cafe and faces difficulties finding out an investor for it. In the meantime frustrated Manikandan who is very possessive about his girl friend Sri Gouri Priya keeps doubting about her activities. Manikandan’s possessiveness leads Sri Gouri Priya much frustrated and she decides to part away her relationship with Manikandan.

The other part of the story reveals what happens after Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya part away their relationship, does Manikandan’s dream to start a cafe come true or it goes as a dream.

The movie clearly portrays the behaviour of both girls and boys of this period scripted and directed by Prabhu Vyas. Younger generation boys and girls would enjoy watching this movie. The movie doesn’t have any scenes of violence or gore, but most of the scenes in the first half of the movie showcases usage of narcotic drugs. Though too many scenes portraying usage of narcotic drugs is not necessary in the movie, it doubts us whether Director Prabhu Vyas has intentionally included such scenes to spoil the mindset of younger generation boys and girls on how to get addicted to the dreadly narcotic drugs.

Manikandan who has proved his acting performance in his earlier movies maintains the same here. Kanna Ravi has played his character very subtle. Sri Gouri Priya really steals the show with her performance. Geetha Kailasam, Saravanan, Nikhila Sankar, Harish Kumar and others have done justice to their work. Shreyas Krishna has well handled the Cinematography with nice visuals and Barath Vikraman has done crispy cuts from his Editing table. Sean Roldan’s background music supports as a backbone for the movie.
